San Miguel Corp, Telstra call it quits
After almost a year of talks, Australian firm Telstra finally ended their negotiations with San Miguel Corporation over joint telco venture. Their partnership would have changed the game of the mobile phone services here in the Philippines, considering the fact that one of the major problems of this country is the slow internet connection. After years and years of complaint, the situation still doesn't change.
Although this is bad news for a lot of Filipino netizens, there's still hope, as San Miguel Corp. states that despite this matter, they will continue to find ways to make the transformation happen and when they launch, consumer will benefit from better and cheaper service. They are also open to another partnership for their telco business. On the other hand, Telstra offered to continue their support to San Miguel Corp. in technical work design and construction. For now, we just need to wait and hope that big change will happen very soon.
