As Mobile World Congress approaches, we've decided to compile all the rumored information about the upcoming LG G5 to at least help you fill up the questions you have in mind.

We'll start on the specs.

Specs

The LG G5 is said to be equipped with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which offers faster LTE connectivity, less charging time, more power efficiency, and better performance with the help of Qualcomm's Kryo CPU. The device has 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and supports a microSD card slot for additional storage.

As for the display, LG G5 will have a 5.3-inch QHD display (2560 x 1440 resolution), it will also feature a ticker display (160 x 1040 resolution) that can be used for displaying notifications and app shortcuts just like the LG V10.

According to VentureBeat, the camera will support a 16-megapixel sensor with dual lenses - capable of a very wide angle shots. It will also support an 8-megapixel front camera.

Here's a leak image from reddit on how the camera will look like.

The battery however, will be a smaller 2,800 mAh compared to 3,000 mAh of LG G4. Probably won't be a problem though, due to the more power efficient CPU from Qualcomm and also, it's more likely to support a fast charging feature.

Features

Like other flagship phones, LG G5 will now sport a finger print scanner located at the back of the phone along with IRIS sensor at the top (front) and a USB Type C port at the bottom of the phone.

Like the Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 will also have an "alway on" display feature but on LCD panel. It enables users to quickly check important information like the date, time, and notifications even the display is off.

The only concern about this feature is it uses an LCD display which consumes more power than the AMOLED display. This might affect LG G5's battery life and have a negative impact to its users later on. For now, we'll just have to wait and see it ourselves.

LG G5 always on

There is also a rumored "magic slot" which allows you to plug in a gaming controller or an external keyboard. It matches LG's "Play" event theme too, so it's more likely to be present.

Release Date

LG confirmed that the LG G5 will be launched two months earlier than last year's LG G4. They will be revealing their new flagship phone this coming February 21st at MWC event in Barcelona. This allows LG to compete with Samsung and HTC in terms of early possible profit. Unlike last year, LG released their LG G4 a little bit late forcing some users to choose from the earlier released flagship phones.

Price

There's no confirmed price point yet but it is expected to be around $600. It could even cost more due to the metal body but after all, it's a flagship device and can go head to head with other leading flagship phones like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7. So, I think it will be worth it.

There you have it. At the end of the day judging from all the information we've got, it looks like this could be a great phone overall. It satisfies mostly all the criteria we want on a flagship smartphone and we can't wait to try this bad boy out.
