WATCH: Robot solved a Rubik's Cube in one second
Jay Flatland and his friend Paul Rose built a very fast Rubik's cube solving robot in an attempt to have a title on the world record.
They used a 3D printed frame to hold each side of the cube and carefully put a hole on every center piece of the cube which allow the stepper motors' feet to hold on. They also used four USB Webcam to determine the state of the cube then the camera information goes directly to a Linux PC and by the help of an application that's running a Rubik's Cube solving algorithm, it will determine a set of moves to solve the puzzle swiftly. As for the result, the device solved the puzzle in just 1.047 seconds.
